no more gay art was created as a response piece to coming to terms which I created about the experience of coming to terms with myself as a lesbian. This piece is a reactionary work to the notion that a gay artist may only create work discussing gay issues and gay politics. no more gay art was created as a way to both acknowledge who I am, whilst saying that I am more than what I create. This piece is a textual witness to myself as an artist to go beyond a gay narrative that exploits only the negative experiences I faced without acknowledging the positive.
